The arts offer kids unique opportunities to engage in imaginative and innovative thought and action and to develop the ability to communicate and represent their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in numerous ways.
Such learning is vital for communication, understanding, and intellectual and emotional growth. It is also necessary for critically analyzing and selecting information in an age
when a plethora of information is available instantaneously. The knowledge and skills developed in the study of the arts can therefore be applied in many other endeavors.
In this program, we want to make sure that First; it’s accessible to all community classes and backgrounds, and Second; that the content of the workshop pushes boundaries beyond arts and crafts based art education for kids.
We encourage the artists to take this as an opportunity to explore a kids mind through their art, and take the time to create exercises that uses the mind and body as one dynamic tool in the creating process, question how do the outcomes of the workshop affect your personal work?, and what are the different ways kids could experience your artistic method in creating art?
